Submission Criteria and Guidelines
- All HBKU faculty/researchers affiliated to any college or research institute are eligible to participate in the poster competition. They can submit only 1 poster as lead author but may be co-authors on other posters.
- All HBKU research/faculty submissions must align with the thematic areas which include:
- Sustainability: sustainable energy, resource security and management, environmental protection and restoration, sustainable/circular economy.
- Precision Medicine: preventative health, diagnosis and treatment, national health mapping programs.
- Artificial Intelligence: education, healthcare, smart cities, smart economy, smart society, analytics and decision support.
- Social Progress: Arabic language, culture and heritage, social responsibility, social inclusion, ethics and policy, family cohesion.
- Progressive Education: personalized learning, social emotional and character development, glocalized curriculum, inclusion and equity.
- The research presented must be led by HBKU researcher.
- Posters involving cross-collaborative research between HBKU entities are highly encouraged.
- We discourage submissions with no results to present.
- The format and overall appearance of the poster must be very clear and well structured.
- All posters must be prepared using the Research Day Template.
- Posters must be submitted in a PDF and PPT format no larger than A0 if printed and no larger than 10 MB. Posters must be in portrait orientation.
- Eligible posters will be posted on the Research Day webpage.
- Posters will be disqualified if they do not adhere to the above criteria.
- The 10 finalist researchers/faculty will be invited to present their posters on the physical Research Day 2023 event.
Awards
The winners of the best researcher/faculty research posters, as determined by expert judges and through online votes, will be announced at awards ceremony on Research Day 2023 for:
- The 1st place winner
- The 2nd place winner
- The 3rd place winner
